History is Repeating: The Eclipse Patterns of the Exodus Revealed
Comparing the Eclipses around 1379 BC with the upcoming "Eclipse of the Century"
Today happens to be one of those rare moments in my life where, by God’s grace, I stumbled across something big. In fact, this is probably one of the biggest findings I have ever made in the realm of biblical history that serves to further explain eschatological realities unfolding in our present day. When I found this particular historical event just earlier this morning, I stopped, mouth wide open, yelling at my computer screen. Interestingly, my wife happened to walk into the room at the exact moment when I finished overlaying all of the data onto one final image, shouting:
“It’s an Alef! I can’t believe it! Oh my God, it’s an Alef!”
Some of you might already know where I’m going with this. It was the subject of my entire second book, after all. For newcomers, I promise I won’t leave you in suspense much longer.
What I found was a six-year solar eclipse cycle at the exact time of the original Exodus under Moses’ leadership. This six-year cycle confirms everything I have presented in my earlier work, including my books, Bible Prophecy Secrets I and Bible Prophecy Secrets II. If you’re familiar with my videos and books, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about as soon as you see it.
Here’s what I found that had me practically screaming at the top of my lungs in excitement:
Figure 1: The Alef Solar Eclipse Sign to Egypt and the Entire Fertile Crescent During the Days of the Exodus.1
Before I unravel some of the deep significance behind this solar eclipse cycle, I must address the obvious pushback that will come both from common and academic circles. One of the problems mainstream historians and archeologists will have with this information is my date for the Exodus, which is 1379 BC. Scholars (and the majority of churchgoers and laymen by default) rely on various methods to determine the date of the Exodus in the Bible, such as:
Archaeological evidence (including radiocarbon dating),
Egyptian historical records
and Synchronisms
Even though the biblical record itself is consulted along with other supporting data, there is a heavy bias towards extra-biblical historical records and archeological evidence. As I explained in great detail in Bible Prophecy Secrets II, the so-called dating method called radiocarbon dating is based on circular reasoning and numerous assumptions, and it is not a scientifically valid (i.e. based on the scientific method) approach to determining dates.2 Radiometric results are not consistent and repeatable, and they are therefore not reliable. Egyptian historical records are just as unhelpful. Get a handful of egyptologists in a room together, and you’ll quickly find out that opinions vary widely, with no single agreed-upon date for the Exodus. What’s even insulting for those of us who walk by faith is that a good chunk of egyptologists doubt the biblical narrative as being a historically valid, large-scale event. Good luck approaching the Exodus through a secular lens, in other words.
What makes my date of 1379 BC different, but also absolutely definitive, is that it is based strictly on the biblical record. The sequence of events and numbers of years recorded in the books of Genesis and Numbers form the solid foundation from which this number is derived. Together with the determination of the Sabbatical and Jubilee cycles throughout history, the biblical account is not only authenticated, but it becomes a practical tool for historical determinations. It comes to life.
For more information on exactly how I derive 1379 BC as the biblically correct date for the Exodus, see Chapter 3 of Bible Prophecy Secrets I. You can access this information for free using the link or button below:
https://www.bibleprophecyunlocked.com/go
Now, of course, if the biblical record itself is wrong, or if you yourself doubt the biblical record, then that’s another thing entirely. There is definitely a broad spectrum of faith going into this information. Many seminary grads get too academic for their own good and doubt things like the genealogies of Genesis 5 and 11. For example, everyone’s favorite Christian apologist as of last year, Wesley Huff, expressed his doubt in the aforementioned Genesis account when interviewed by Joe Rogan. He stated that the numbers had weird patterns that seemed secular in origin. That’s why he doesn’t believe the Bible. Weird numbers, he said, “divisible by like 12 and 60” (I’m not joking, he actually said that—go to my source here.)3
Then, there are those of us who accept the biblical narrative for what it is—a true and exact account of human history. And, after you see the information laid out in this article, I think your faith will not only be strengthened in a unique way, but you will be able to discern some of the upcoming events of these last days with quite a bit of foresight. That’s the whole point of Overcome Babylon to begin with, so let’s dive right in, shall we?
Darkness During the Day: Key Symbolism Throughout the Bible
God declares in Genesis 1:14 that the “lights in the firmament” are to serve as “signs” throughout all generations. The celestial bodies have in themselves a supernatural messaging system, offering wisdom to all who learn its unique language. A key part of that language involves eclipses—both lunar and solar. In all of my research, I have found solar eclipses in particular to be more significant signs for supernatural, prophetic, and geopolitical events. There seem to be more significant events connected to solar eclipses than to any other single celestial phenomenon. I think part of the reason for this reality has to do with just how obvious these signs are. You might be sleeping when a lunar eclipse happens at 2am, but a solar eclipse? Everyone can’t stop talking about them both before and after they happen. If you have ever had the opportunity to stand in the path of totality for a solar eclipse, you’ll know what I’m talking about. I have had this opportunity before.
The bugs stop making noises, the birds stop chirping, and there is little noise. There is even the sensation that it somehow feels colder outside under the darkness of the eclipse. It’s not just me, either. It is well-documented through both anecdotal reports and scientific studies that the overall behavior of wildlife changes. Bugs like crickets, cicadas, and bees get quiet and return to their homes. People tend to get awestruck. Naturally, I am of the opinion that God designed solar eclipses to look, feel, and drive an ominous feeling onto those who receive the sign. It is meant to get people to stop and ask, “Do you feel that? It feels like something really big is about to happen.”
This is the same phenomenon that is recorded during the ninth plague upon Egypt:
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness which may even be felt.” So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. (Exodus 10:21,22 NKJV)
Did you catch that?
It was a darkness that could be felt. Of course, this plague over Egypt at the hand of Moses was not actually a solar eclipse. They don’t last for three days, so whatever happened in Exodus 10 was strictly supernatural—not celestial. Regardless, darkness during the daytime served as a sign of judgment, and this symbolism is repeated many times later in the Bible.
Here are just a few:
Joel 3:14,15
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The sun and moon will grow dark, And the stars will diminish their brightness.
Amo 8:9,10
“And it shall come to pass in that day,” says the Lord GOD, “That I will make the sun go down at noon, And I will darken the earth in broad daylight; I will turn your feasts into mourning, And all your songs into lamentation; I will bring sackcloth on every waist, And baldness on every head; I will make it like mourning for an only son, And its end like a bitter day.
Matthew 27:45,46
Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
With verses like these in mind, it’s not surprising to find a particular eclipse pattern during the time of the Exodus from Egypt. The exact pattern is none other than the Phoenician letter 𐤀, or Alef in Hebrew—the first letter of the alphabet in both languages.
The Sign of the Alef, 𐤀 (The Sign of Judgment)
Imagine my shock when I found this sign accompanying the original date of the Exodus in 1379 BC. I have only ever found the Alef solar eclipse sign one other time over Australia, but I didn’t perceive it to have significance. I’m sure that there are other Alef omens throughout history, but as of right now, the only two that I am aware of are the Exodus Alef and the Alef over 2020s America. Here’s what the American one looks like:
Figure 2: The American Alef Omen (known biblically as The Sign of Jonah). For a full unraveling of this mystery, check out Bible Prophecy Secrets II.
In a nutshell: when trying to determine the significance of a solar eclipse cycle, like this one pictured above, you have to figure out where the cycle begins and where it ends. There are ways to do this, but in the case of the American Alef cycle, the August 21, 2017 eclipse began the clock, and it ended on April 8, 2024. The duration was 2422 days, not including the end date (this is 6 years, 7 months, 18 days). Keep this exact number of days in mind. It will pop up again later.
The reason why this number is so significant is because the original Sign of Jonah’s duration was 2,598 days (7 years, 1 month 10 days).4
The reason I call triple (and sometimes double) eclipse cycles of about 6-7 years long the “Sign of Jonah” is because of what Jesus said in a widely overlooked statement to the Pharisees. Pay careful attention:
Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” And He left them and departed. Mat 16:1-4 [emphasis added]
Though, yes, in other parts of the Gospels Jesus is talking about His death, burial, and resurrection being akin to the Sign of Jonah, you can clearly see here that there is a double meaning.
It has to do with the “signs of the times”.
It has to do with looking up towards the “sky”.
It has something to do with a “sign from heaven”.
Indeed, that is precisely what the celestial Sign of Jonah is, as I have carefully and methodically documented in all of my work. Though the original Sign of Jonah to Assyria was not in the shape of an Alef, it was indeed a triple-eclipse omen. And now, it is time to look at the original Exodus, for therein is another triple eclipse. Understanding this sign is important. It allows for discernment regarding the timing of a future Exodus that is yet to come, as I will briefly describe at the end of this article.
The Alef of the Exodus
First, let’s pinpoint where the cycle began. Since we know the date of the Exodus to be 1379 BC, we can look backward in time to see if there was any sort of celestial warning sign from God that such a massive geopolitical upheaval was about to take place. When I first got the inclination to look into this idea the other day, I went back in time about 12 years before 1379 BC. There was a significant eclipse over Egypt in 1389 BC, but it seemed slightly too far away to be a part of a cycle that was connected to the Exodus. The first significant date I ended up finding was May 12, 1384 BC. Here’s what it looks like below:
Figure 3: The Total Solar Eclipse of May 12, 1384 BC.5
Because this was a total eclipse, it would have been visible to the children of Israel in those days, even though it’s path of totality was relatively further to the south. From the land of Goshen in the northeastern corner of Egypt (the eastern part of the Nile Delta), the Israelites would have seen this eclipse sign with about 62.853% obscuration of the sun. This high degree of visibility also means that it was a major sign to all of the territory of Egypt, being seeing even more clearly in the southern parts of the nation.
The next eclipse on my radar was about a couple years later on September 15, 1382 BC. This one was extremely visible, and significant, to the entire Fertile Crescent.
Figure 4: The Partial Solar Eclipse of 1382 BC.6
At this time in history, the entire known world was concentrated in what we know today as the Middle East (or West Asia). Mesopotamia was the cradle of civilization, and all of humanity flourished near the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. Much of the agriculture in the region took place here, and major cities had already been established in what we know today as Iraq. Within the path of totality of this eclipse is Mosul, Iraq, which was the location of ancient Nineveh—the eventual capital of the Assyrian Empire. Another key location, south of modern-day Baghdad, was none other than Babylon itself. Today, this place is situated near the town of Hillah in Iraq, but back in those days, Babylon was still remembered as the land of Nimrod—a place of great rebellion against God, as described in Genesis chapters 10 and 11.
Finally, there is another solar eclipse of great importance to this cycle of history. It occurred on July 5, 1378 BC, the next year after the Exodus was completed. The children of Israel would have been encamped at the base of Mount Sinai during this exact moment in time, since they stayed there for two whole years after the Exodus (see Numbers 10:11).
Figure 5: The Partial Solar Eclipse of 1378 BC.7
Whether you believe in the mainstream archeological narrative that Mount Sinai is located in Jebel Musa (in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt, near Saint Catherine’s Monastery), or if you believe in the alternative narrative that Jabal al-Lawz (in Saudi Arabia) is the true location of Mount Sinai—it makes no difference. Either location would have seen this particular solar eclipse with a very high degree of visibility. The main point is that God’s unprecedented judgment over Egypt was accompanied by a sign, and this, once again, is what it looks like when you overlay all three eclipses of this cycle to paint a complete picture of this omen of judgment.
Figure 6: The Alef Sign of Judgment to Egypt
This cycle’s duration was 2,245 days (6 years, 1 month 23 days), which is eerily similar to the American Sign of Jonah and the Sign of Jonah to Assyria. Such a duration of 6-7 years, as I stated, is not a coincidence.
There are so many considerations here that this article will not be enough to cover them all. One of the key verses that comes to mind in light of this incredible sign is Exodus 9:16, which states:
“But indeed for this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.”
Of course, news of the destruction of Egypt would have spread throughout the world at that time. Certainly, all of the nations would have known that something significant and supernatural took place against the Egyptians. But, just in case there was any doubt, God broadcasted His celestial sign of the Alef to all the known world at that time so that there would be absolutely no second guessing or wondering as to the origin of the destruction of Egypt. All of the wise men together with practitioners of dark arts, astrologers, and soothsayers would have understood the significance of three solar eclipses within proximity to the downfall of the Egyptian empire—an empire that was at the peak of its power before God’s calamity overtook it. In fact, that is why this Alef Sign is so important. The nations that see such a triple-eclipse omen see upheavals, turmoil, war, and destruction when this celestial event occurs. This Egyptian Alef is yet another data point on the timeline of human history where we can definitively say that this sign indicates change, upheaval, and the beginning of something new.
The Great Egyptian Eclipses: 2027 to 2034
This analysis of the original Exodus finally brings me to the crux of the matter. History is repeating, and we are once again witnessing another Sign of Jonah event that will take place in the Middle East from 2027 to 2034. (I have written about this exact cycle in Chapter 13 of Bible Prophecy Secrets I, so make sure to check out my full analysis.)
More specifically, the world will witness a total solar eclipse on August 2, 2027 that will be visible over Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Southwest Asia, with the path of totality passing directly through numerous nations. This first eclipse by itself has been nicknamed the “Eclipse of the Century”. This name comes from the fact that this eclipse will have an unusually long duration of totality. For observers directly in the path, we are talking about up to 6 minutes and 23 seconds of maximum viewing time. Such a thing is nearly unheard of. The other eclipse will be yet another total solar eclipse on March 20, 2034, appearing to Africa, Europe, and West Asia. Here’s what they look like together on a map:
Figure 7: The Upcoming Sign of Jonah to Egypt.8 The duration of this cycle is 2422 days (6 years, 7 months, 18 days) - this is the same exact number of days as the American Sign of Jonah cycle.
These eclipses, especially the one in 2034, will be seen by most of the world’s population, making them the most visible solar eclipses of recent history. From what I can tell, the second eclipse doesn’t yet have a nickname in popular culture or scientific circles, but both the 2027 and 2034 eclipses together are sometimes being referred to as the Great Egyptian Eclipses.
Coincidence?
Not at all.
There is a reason I dedicated an entire chapter, Chapter 13, to covering this topic of a coming Second Exodus, or Greater Exodus, of God’s people out of the whole world where they have been scattered. Many have falsely attributed numerous chapters of this Bible prophecy to the modern state of 1948-Israel, but the Greater Exodus of God’s people has not yet taken place as described in the writings of the Prophets. With all of the information from this article fresh in your mind, I now invite you to listen to a presentation from the Overcome Babylon podcast that will further highlight biblical prophecy while getting you ready for what God is about to do very soon in our midst:
