“Judeo-Christian” : The Greatest Oxymoron of Christian Vernacular
Lord, have mercy...
What does the term “Judeo-Christian” mean, anyway? Well, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, it means “having historical roots in both Judaism and Christianity.”(1) That seems agreeable enough; but the problem is that we hear things all the time, like:
Judeo-Christian faith
Judeo-Christian values
Judeo-Christian principles
This mixing of two completely different religions begs the question: Are these terms that we, as followers of Christ, should be using so nonchalantly in our everyday speech?
This topic recently came up during a conversation I had with someone in a local Sunday-Christian church. It’s really quite simple. Just think about it like this: Islam is yet another Abrahamic religion, like Judaism, that also has “historical roots” with both Judaism and Christianity, having developed from an early Jewish sect called the Ebionites.(2) Yet, we never (under any ordinary circumstances) hear the terms:
Islamo-Christian faith
Islamo-Christian values
Islamo-Christian principles
Just the thought of these terms invokes uncontrollable laughter. Just look at Iran—one of the only theocratic Muslim countries in the world. It readily persecutes Christians, throwing them in underground concrete dungeons for simply having a home church gathering or daring to evangelize others in the public square. Some, after being brutally mistreated and denied basic human rights, are even given the death penalty for being “apostates.” Just listen to Marzi Amirizadeh’s testimony of surviving Iran’s Evan Prison and hear how she was treated as a Christian in a Muslim-majority nation during an Overcome Babylon livestream from a few months ago.(3)
Going back to the topic at hand, my premise simple. Just like we should never use the term “Islamo-Christian” or “Buddo-Christian”, we should never combine the idea of Judaism with Christianity, either. Even though it’s currently a cultural norm to do so, it’s dead wrong. Like the angelic messenger said in Revelation 18:4, “Come out of her, my people!”
Just like Islam is in direct contradiction to Christianity with the addition of the Quaran and numerous extra-Biblical practices, Judaism is also in direct contradiction to Christianity with its denial of Jesus as the Messiah and the addition of volumes of extra-biblical works, such as the Zohar, Kabbalah, and Talmud. Oh, and in case you weren’t aware, the modern state of Israel persecutes Christians. Not only have they been bombing some of the oldest Christian churches and communities in Palestine (some going back 1,700 years), but spitting on Christians is seen as a “Jewish custom”, especially in ultra-Orthodox communities of Israel (4,5,6).
Any unbiased, sensible historian or biblical scholar will plainly tell you that Judaism is a completely different religion from Christianity. That’s the problem. The establishment has craftily modified even the language we speak so that it is inherently biased in favor of “Israel,” which is to say, the 1948 governmental entity of “Israel”, falsely so called, for it is not the true embodiment of all 12 Tribes of Israel; nor is it under the direct leadership of Jesus Christ Himself—both conditions of which are specifically outlined in the Bible for the true regathering of Israel in the last days. For more information on the Regathering, or Greater Exodus, of all the Tribes, check out one of my latest videos, “Lost Tribes of Israel FOUND? The Shocking Truth (& Greater Exodus) Revealed.”(7)
For the more skeptical mind, there might still be some doubt as to the sinister nature of the Talmud and other Jewish (Judaic) writings. Are they really that bad? Surely, there *has* to be some overlap between Christianity and Judaism somewhere, right?
To settle the matter conclusively, I point your attention to Chapter 11 of Bible Prophecy Secrets (Expanded), where I cite several passages of the Talmud.(8) First, just listen to what is written about Jesus, specifically Gitten 57a, where a man named Onkelos supposedly uses necromancy in order to communicate with Jesus (the Lord) who was found to be burning in hell. Pay attention to Jesus’ crime, according to this cherished text of the Talmud:
“Onkelos then went and raised Jesus the Nazarene from the grave through necromancy. Onkelos said to him: Who is most important in that world where you are now? Jesus said to him: The Jewish people. Onkelos asked him: Should I then attach myself to them in this world? Jesus said to him: Their welfare you shall seek, their misfortune you shall not seek, for anyone who touches them is regarded as if he were touching the apple of his eye. Onkelos said to him: What is the punishment of that man, a euphemism for Jesus himself, in the next world? Jesus said to him: He is punished with boiling excrement. As the Master said: Anyone who mocks the words of the Sages will be sentenced to boiling excrement. And this was his sin, as he mocked the words of the Sages. The Gemara comments: Come and see the difference between the sinners of Israel and the prophets of the nations of the world. As Balaam, who was a prophet, wished Israel harm, whereas Jesus the Nazarene, who was a Jewish sinner, sought their well-being.” (9)
Passages like this one from Gitten 57a truly give Judaism a unique and alienating place amongst the world’s various religions. Whereas Islam, Buddhism, Wicca, and virtually all religions view Jesus as a highly enlightened spiritual teacher, Judaism’s diabolical ridicule, scorn, and mockery of Christ stand in stark contrast. Jesus, a sinner? Burning in hot excrement [read: boiling shit]? Jesus, a mocker of the Jewish sages, and therefore banished to hell for eternity? It is baffling—utterly amazing, even—that millions of well-meaning Christians are unaware of these teachings and continue to use the adjective “Judeo-Christian” as if both religions have anything in common other than very superficial “do good” principles.
But of course, for the extreme skeptic, I want to point your attention to another volume of Judaic writings called the Mishna and also something that I did not include in my book. A particular set of “laws” called the Mishna Niddah highlights Judaism’s standard operating procedures for dealing with a woman’s menstrual cycle, in addition to other nuances involving women’s reproductive nature. Of course, the Torah (Genesis through Deuteronomy) itself already has everything you need for doctrine and righteous living, but let’s just see what the Rabbinic Jews felt necessary to add:
MISHNA: A girl who is three years and one day old, whose father arranged her betrothal, is betrothed through intercourse, as the halakhic status of intercourse with her is that of intercourse in all halakhic senses. And in a case where the childless husband of a girl three years and one day old dies, if his brother the yavam engages in intercourse with her, he acquires her as his wife; and if she is married, a man other than her husband is liable for engaging in intercourse with her due to violation of the prohibition against intercourse with a married woman.(10)
Let me provide needed clarity. What this passage of the Mishna is providing are bizzare rules for a very young girl to be considered “married” according to Jewish law. I will show you what the Mishna says if she is younger than three years and one day in just a moment. First, the word “halakhic” is another word of “Judaic law”. Notice also the provision of what’s called the “yavam”. The “yavam” is a Hebrew word describing the surviving brother of a man who died childless. The Torah itself refers to this situation as the “duty of the brother in law” in which seed must be raised up for his dead brother if he never had children. However, the Torah itself never—absolutely never—speaks of pedophilic intercourse with such a young girl. What the Mishna is fundamentally outlining are procedures pertaining to sex with all women, of course, but particularly with an emphasis on what age a marriageable woman is actually considered a marriageable woman—namely, three years and one day. Oh, but it gets worse. Just a few paragraphs later, additional information is given regarding this strange reference to three-year-old girls having intercourse:
“If the girl is less than that age, younger than three years and one day, the status of intercourse with her is not that of intercourse in all halakhic senses; rather, it is like placing a finger into the eye. Just as in that case, the eye constricts, sheds tears, and then returns to its original state, so too, in a girl younger than three years and one day old, the hymen returns to its original state.”(11)
I told you it gets worse—a lot worse. What the passage is saying is that if someone engages in pedophilic sex with a girl who is younger than the officially recognized marriageable age of Judaism—three years and one day—then there are no legally (halakhic) binding consequences because the virginity of such a child is not actually affected. That is what is meant by the “hymen” repairing itself, essentially. The child—yeah, a toddler—is not actually married in any legal sense, and there is no harm done, they say! It’s just a poke in the eye! Look, there isn’t even much reading in between the lines that needs to happen here. The slant, tone, and message of these readings of the Mishna are very plain and out in the open for anyone to see. An other-worldly (demonic), sex-obsessed, and downright perverted worldview permeates these writings and has abandoned both the simplicity and the purity found in the Torah of God. The Holy Spirit had nothing to do with these reprobate writings, and only a fool would be unable to tell the difference between the Torah and the writings of Judaism.
There is so much more to say. For now, just keep these two examples—Jesus burning in hell and the promotion of pedophilia—in mind next time you hear a deceived Christian use the term “Judeo-Christian” or, even worse, defend the government of 1948 Israel and its genocide against the Palestinians. Remind them of what Judaism and its writings actually teach along with their great disdain for the Savior of Christianity. Yes, we should pray for Israel. Absolutely! But, we should be praying for their humbling, and for their judgment, for this is the will of God as we approach the Great Tribulation period and Iran’s next major offensive.

Abraham Ojeda

Thank you for this teaching. It's so important to remember that we must be careful with our language!
Thank you Abraham .. honestly I really never thought about it! I have been thinking about this, but from a different angle.
Muslim against Christians, Jews who deny the Jewish prophesied in the major prophets. It clearly says He will come from Bethlehem. Matzah has stripes and piercings. Yeshua IS the Jewish messiah who came because of idolatry, syncretism, and legalism! Zohar, Talmud and, Kabbalah - red string also in Chinese and other Asian cultures.
What ABBA put on my heart is this: it does not matter if you belong to a particular denomination or follow Torah and do the Moedim or if you say Yeshua as whatever is the latest trend (performance of tongue) or if you believe in rapture or dispensation. The primary issue is we all believe that Jesus of Nazareth is our Lord and savior. We all agree on this.
When the Noahide laws roll out … do you believe in Jesus? You have broken the first commandment of 7. Jesus is an idol according to their oral rabbinic tradition. We know they rejected the messiah that was prophesied in the Tanakh because He came in like a lamb. He is coming back as a lion but they don’t understand that (in their legalistic mind).
You will be persecuted for His namesake. Period. No denominations. No debating them in that! This is the biggest lie .. using all of these secondary issues to divide the Christians. Remember a nation stands if united but divided they will fall.
I no longer debate secondary issues. I merely use it for my apologetics. We need to stop fighting or debating over nonsense. Stop pushing opinions being led by emotions. We believe Jesus was killed on the cross, was buried in a tomb, and resurrected 3 days later not 1 1/2. That is the only truth. He died for us because of legalistic prideful boasting Pharisees and the rest. We are the church. We are all grafted in … messianics, too. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
I pray for spiritual eyes and ears to be poured out on all believers … like Saul that the scales will fall off their eyes!
Blessings to you all. Abraham I pray the Holy Spirit continues to enlighten and sanctify you! Abba led me to you. There are no coincidences!
Brothers and sisters please get your spiritual house in order. Pray continually. Ask and you shall receive! Be fishers of men. Boldly proclaim Jesus is our King spreading the good news!!!
Work for your blessings in heaven. Pray for others and be kind.
May Yeshua bless you and keep you 🙏🙌🕊️🐑🔥
