Also, the dates provided for any future new moons are only estimates because we must always practice looking for physical confirmation of a new moon sighting with the naked eye in order to begin each month. This web page will be updated as the year continues in order to accurately document new moon dates and the holy days of the seventh month.

🌾 Barley Update on 16-Feb-2026 ➤
Becca Biderman, our most reliable witness living in the Land of Israel, has been sharing regular updates regarding the state of the wild barley on her YouTube channel. She posted a video from two days ago confirming that the barley is developing fruiting heads at this time. Click here to watch her video: “Wild barley in Jezreel Valley 2/16/2026”.
At the current rate, we should absolutely be expecting this current year to have 12 months, and a 13th month intercalation will not necessary. This means that the anticipated New Moon date of March 20th will begin the New Year. Of course, we must wait for confirmation of (1) the barley and (2) the New Moon sighting before making a firm declaration.

Becca Biderman shared her findings on this video update, and she points out the errors that others have been trying to determine the beginning of the year.
From Becca’s website, she states the following:
In the March 11, 2026, video, I specifically checked fields from south of Jerusalem to Mash’en. During this search, I came across a cultivated field of barley that may have been used by some to determine the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, when inspectors enter Israel without clearly distinguishing between cultivated barley and wild barley, it can lead to unintentional trespassing on private property and also create confusion about when the head of the year should begin. Because of this, I will not be returning to re-inspect that particular field. In my observations, I rely only on wild barley, not cultivated barley, and I avoid inspecting fields located in restricted or hot zones. I humbly share this explanation for those who may have already begun their calendar, so you can understand why we have chosen to wait. The biblical calendar should always point us to Yeshua, reflecting the testimony of what the Land itself is speaking. [emphasis added]
Because of these reports (and others like it), the anticipated New Moon date of March 20th will begin the New Year of 5862. We will wait for confirmation and update this page as the year progresses.
